YES! Most students haven't touched watercolors since they were a kiddo, playing around with a $1 set.
After a few years of teaching workshops, I have been in awe of what first time artists are able to create. I find that the hardest part of painting for beginners is usually the drawing, and we use traceable outlines so that part is made super simple.
With that being said, even I still make paintings that I don’t like - fairly often. It just takes some patience and practice.
Not much! You will need access to a computer, a camera (if you want to share your art on our community facebook page, and your phone will do perfectly), a Facebook account (if you want to join the online community).
For creating, there will be a list of supplies for each monthly lesson. Most of them are the same each month and the list will always be very short. You have 2 options for buying your supplies:
- Pre-packaged supply kits are $34. You can find those kits HERE.
- Recommended supplies will be posted prior to the lesson within the Download section of each upcoming lesson. I will have Amazon Affiliate links to order online, or you will be free to purchase anywhere else!
On average, your final project will take 1-2 hours, but the entire monthly workshop could take up to 3 or 4 hours.
This depends on which workshop it is, how many of the warm up exercises you chose to do (each workshop will have optional warm up exercises), how much you end up chatting if paint with a group and maybe how much wine you drink ;)
Lessons will broken down into simple steps so that you won't spend additional time with content that you don't need.
Yes, anytime! However, founding members receive the lowest price and the price may increase for the next enrollment period. Monthly membership is currently $17/mo and will increase in future months. If you cancel your membership, you will be asked to pay the current asking price upon your return.
Of course! A big part of Carly Rae Creators will be the connection you have with other creatives and the access you will have to ask questions.
There will be live Q & A sessions for questions, as well as our Facebook community for me and others to answer questions + concerns along the way.
Enrollment will reopen September 3! Make sure you're on the waitlist to be the first to know.
The first 3 workshops will be florals, succulents and tropical leaves workshops. Other future workshops will be some of the following, and I am always looking for suggestions!:

I'm the artist and small business owner behind Carly Rae Creative + Carly Rae Studio. I graduated with a degree in Art Education and started selling my watercolor prints online and at craft fairs, which soon after became my full-time job. Jumping back into teaching in this non-traditional way has me super fired up to help others create! I've learned so much and developed a signature watercolor style over the years. I cannot wait to share it all and help you to cultivate your creativity!
